Dear volunteers,

I want to share with you our new project.

At the moment we need just four people to want to join in. It’s very simple and you can do it at home.

In our food sharing activity we have some people that can’t cook for different reasons (physical problems, depression, etc.). We always leave them microwave food, which is not the most healthy.

We are looking for 4-6 people/families, willing to cook some food once a month for them. On Fridays I will go to pick it up and give to the beneficiaries on Saturdays when the food is shared, or you can bring it if you come to the activity. There is no need to prepare food for many days, just 1-3 meals are already enough.

Now we have one family, we just need 5 more. Who wants to join? You can also ask your parents, it can be fun cooking for others with them. If you are interested, register in the Youth Revolution calendar.

Hello dear volunteer!

There are a lot of people in need in Helsinki, our duty will be to delivered them food . Now we have one source of food, we still looking for other one, to reach all the families in need.

We will leave from the office of IYC Suomi to pick it up the food and directly to the neighborhoods of all the families that we can. At the moment we have just one car so thats is why there are just 3 space in the activity, but if you have car and you want to contribute with it say to us.

We will enable more spaces for the activity.

If you want to join into the volunteers whatsapp group to help in others activities, you are welcome. Just said to us, and join in the activity.

Our volunteers had been thinking about the elderly people nowadays that they fell more lonely than ever with the corona virus crisis. After a long time thinking about how they can be with them in distance, they found this format that we now share with all of you and we encourage you to join in it.

Reserve some time for solidarity and join our volunteering team to knit socks, a scarf, or what you think seniors may like most. We can do it together. One of us will teach us how to knit for those that are new to it. We are meeting the 1st Saturday of each month at Silta-klubi (Parastentie 6) from 14:00-15:30. You can come other Saturdays or continue at home.

When the handmade item is ready you will write a letter sending a message to the recipient of the gift, i.e. explaining to them how important they are for you and telling that we care about them, that they are not alone!
